Data Sources Search View
Data Sources Search enables you to quickly search across the entire system for any 3rd party keys linked to a data source. This ensures you can integrate, reconcile, and report across multiple 3rd party systems with the LemonEdge platform.
Data Source Search Features
Data Source search allows you to search for 3rd party unique reference fields across all your data and all Data Source Types. This search can be filtered to specific areas of data providing the level of detail you have for the search itself.
The search while extremely useful for reconciling 3rd party data integration, is also an example of how Data Sources are a key part of the system providing alternative keys for every entity in the platform.
The search retrieves results with a matching key in a data source with the following information:
- The Data Source Type that had a matching key against an entity record
- The Entity Type of the record the data source matched against
- The Source ID that matched the data source search parameters
You then have the ability to export all this to excel (as you do in any of our grids in the entire platform) or to select and open the matching records to actually investigate the data.
Data Source Search Parameters
Whenever you run a data source search you are presented with a list of options which allow you to narrow that search to precisely what you are looking for:
- Search:
The key you are searching for - Exact Match:
Indicates whether the data source field need be exactly the same as the search term or only needs to contain it. - Data Source Type:
Indicates you want to search only among a particular Data Source Type instead of across all data source types. - Entity Type:
Data Source Types can either be globally unique, or unique just to each individual entity type. Some source systems may have an auto-increment id as their unique field which would only be unique to each entity type. If the data source type is not globally unique you'll normally want to restrict it to just a particular entity type to avoid duplicate matches.
The system will then search all entities specified in your search parameters to find any with data sources that match your search key. The more you narrow the search field, the quicker it will be.
Commands
Note
A Data SOurce Search has the standard set of commands and functions when being viewed from a grid. See our standard grid functionality.
A Data Source Search also has the following custom commands:
- Change Search: This will popup the search parameters screen again allowing you to change the search parameters and re-run the search.
